2007 Chateau Rayne Vigneau Sauternes Half Bottle

A half bottle of 2007 d'Yquem currently sells for around $300 A half bottle of 2007 Rayne Vigneau? Available today for $29.99 What do the two wines above have in common? Location, location, location. "It must be galling to hang on the shoulder of a more illustrious sibling for perpetuity and beyond. Think of Château Rayne-Vigneau. Study its enviable location on a gravel rise close to the village of Bommes, sandwiched between no less than Château d’Yquem and the Ciron River ... if there is ever a single Sauternes vineyard that is truly under-valued then it is Rayne-Vigneau" - Neal Martin - Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate If there was ever a time to stock up on Sauternes, that time ... is now. We have just learned that we will be receiving a small amount of the brilliant 2007 Rayne Vigneau in half bottle size in just a few weeks! The 2007 vintage scored 95 Points by Neal Marin in Robert Parker's the Wine Advocate. Martin went on to feature this blockbuster estate in an article posted to the Wine Advocate website under the name "The Queen of Sauternes: Chateau de Rayne-Vigneau 1947-2009" In the article, Martin raves over the estate and tastes through 10 vintages, dating back to 1947. The highest score went to the 1959 to which Martin noted "The Château Rayne-Vigneau 1959 was astonishing. To put that into context, having recently tasted the Château d’Yquem 1959, I would be happy to place this on par or even higher." We are sorry to say our stock of the 1959 Rayne Vigneau is ... well ... we don't have any. We can, however, report that we were able to get our hands on the second highest rated wine from this report, the 2007 vintage, and have it available today on pre-sale at just $24.99 per 375 ML bottle! Or, if you order by the case (24 bottles to a case) the price comes down to just $19.99 per half bottle when you use the code RAYNE24. "Immense potential" - That's what Neal Martin said at the end of his review on the 2007 vintage. We are very excited to see the end result here. Please note, this wine is a pre-sale, and expected to arrive this May! [+]
