2011 Owen Roe Rook Red Blend

The 2011 Rook was made to showcase the world-class Merlot grown in the cooler, higher elevation sites located in the Yakima Valley and the Horse Heaven Hills. The wine was aged in mostly neutral French oak to keep the bright fruit flavors lively in this very cool vintage. The addition of Malbec lends soft red and black fruits to the aromatics and flavors. Showing red and black fruits, sarsaparilla, orange peel, cinnamon and tobacco, this crisply textured red is balanced by fine grained tannins and a rich, pillow soft mid-palate. [+]
