Three Shades Blue is a Texas based FULL VOLUME ELECTRIC ROCK BAND that performs a high energy blend of original Southern influenced Rock with a Blues and TX Country/Red Dirt flavor. Their tight, polished sound has helped them rise to the top of the local music scene. They never fail to deliver a “BIG” show to any size audience from 20 to 20,000. Three Shades Blue has had the honor and privilege to share the stage with many world famous musicians including Rick Springfield, Candlebox, Blackberry Smoke, Ian Moore, Cody Canada and The Departed just to name a few!
Three Shades Blue also makes many appearances on radio and television. They have been regular guests on "Local Licks Live" - a weekly one-hour live acoustic show on 107.9FM KEYJ Rock108. Performances recorded during these shows can also be heard on KEYJ's "Acoustic Cafe" - a weekly one-hour block of acoustic music. Three Shades Blue has done radio interviews and acoustic performances in many other cities across Texas as well. They have performed on "KTAB4u" - a TV show airing on KTAB 32. "KTAB4u" has also aired segments from the music video for "Jump That Train". Three Shades Blue has also done both an interview and performance on "Foxlive" - a TV show airing on KXVA 15, KIDZ 17,and KIDY 19. "Foxlive" repeats this performance throughout the season.
John Smith, Vocals & Bass, is not afraid to pour his passion for the music through the microphone while laying down a solid bass groove at the same time.
Eric Michener, Vocals & Rhythm Guitar, brings a strong vocal presence to the group along with a unique sound on guitar.

Ric Rogers is the lead guitarist, head songwriter, and founder of TSB. He has been playing professionally for 20 years, and has toured all over Texas in various bands. In 2010, Ric was awarded the Blues ‘n Rock Gazette “Guitarist of the Year” award. He was also awarded 2015 Guitarist of the Year by the Abilene Historical Music Society. [+]
