Sammie M. Benson (born April 8, 1990), better known by his stage name Blac Youngsta, is an American hip hop recording artist from Memphis, Tennessee. [1]  He is signed to Yo Gotti's CMG record label and Epic Records. Youngsta and another Memphis hip hop recording artist, Young Dolph got into a feud in early 2016, which was later dropped that year. [2]

Youngsta first became known regionally after his 2014 hit single, Heavy, from his third mixtape, Fast Bricks 3. [3] He later caught the attention of Yo Gotti, another hip hop recording artist from his area, from appearing in one of Gotti’s videos, which landed a meeting with his label and latter meeting with Gotti himself, and gave Youngsta an opportunity to tour with him for two months. After the tour ended, Gotti decided to sign him to his CMG record label and Epic Records in 2015. [4]

 

Personal Life

Black Youngsta was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee[5]

Benson is part of Yo Gotti's CMG (Group Collective Music Group/Cocaine Muzik Group), along with Jordan Hollywood, Snooty Wild, Wave Chappelle, and Zed Zilla. [6]

In February 2016, Blac Youngsta proved he has $200K in cash by counting money on The Breakfast Club (radio show)[7]

 

Controversies

On January 8th, 2016, he was stopped by police for attempting to withdraw a large sum of cash from a Wells Fargo in Buckhead, Atlanta. The cash was to be used to purchase a new Mercedes-Benz. The account has since closed and the money moved to Bank of America[8]

In March 2016, Youngsta was in the news for dissing Young Dolph (Adolph Thornton)[9]  

Also in March 2016, a trans woman by the name of Bnell Williams claimed to have had an affair with Blac Youngsta [10], although Blac Youngsta vehemently denied it, saying "I have kids.." [11]

 

Arrest

On May 16th, 2017, Blac Youngsta was arrested for being the prime suspect of a shooting that occurred in February, 2017. The central figure in the shooting is Young Dolph who's SUV received more than 100 shots outside the annual CIAA event in Charlotte. According to reports, Young Dolph's vehicle was bullet proof so luckily he didn't get hurt.  [12]

Outstanding warrants were issued for the arrest of Blac Youngsta therefore he surrendered to the police along with his two other accomplices were also in the warrants. He was charged with six counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property and one count of felony conspiracy. Youngsta was later released from Mecklenburg County Jail at 2:07 p.m. He is scheduled for a court hearing Wednesday, May 17. [13]
