Alan Doyle has been doing Hip-Hop music for eleven years & recently started performing in late 2010. He has made six CDs, three music videos & online music in the past; now he is working on a current album.
Often compared to Johnny Polygon, Jay-Z & Kanye West, the kind of Hip-Hop Alan makes is described as a tribute to the old school in the modern days. He makes it important that the verses are the same level as the hook (chorus). Also, he also makes his own instrumentals & mixes the tracks for recordings & performances.
Alan Doyle is often referred as “The Number 4” due to an old soccer number he used back in 1999. He drew a logo, that he still uses to this day, on a book cover while in class at Broken Arrow South Intermediate High School. Ironically, it was in the 4th class period of the day.
Since then, he has used that moniker in his music, uses the logo & displays a 4 finger hand gesture. His personality can connect with the crowd, no matter what genre that crowd likes. Alan doesn’t particularly care for the club banger culture that has overshadowed the true, down to Earth Hip-Hop nowadays, so he decided to not follow the easy road.
When it comes to shows inside or outside of Tulsa, Alan is willing to play anywhere. He has performed at various venues in Tulsa such as Treehouse, The Shrine, Back Alley Blues & BBQ, The Yeti, Recess Lounge, The Vanguard & many more. His performance at the 2013 Center Of The Universe Festival was one of the best & talked about performances throughout the two day festival in July 2013. Outside of Tulsa in 2013, he has performed at Sauced on Paseo in Oklahoma City, OK, Moonlight Mugs in Nowata, OK & Dillinger’s Event Center in Bucyrus, OH. Plus, he has also opened for national artists such as Afroman, DJ P, Jabee & Johnny Polygon in 2013.
Alan has also won four awards in 2013: Best New Artist, Best Hip-Hop Song (“About Me”) & Video Of The Year (“Matador”) by Oasis Music Charts and the Absolute Best of Tulsa winner in the Hip-Hop category by Urban Tulsa Weekly. As a part of a local Hip-Hop crew called The Outsiders, Alan intends to bring great music & building a fanbase for many years to come.
