Cowboy boot wearin' storyteller, musician, singer, poet, crafter, gardener, cook, and traveler. She pulls imagery from everyday life, hand stitching each word creating, sometimes painstaking, quilts and yarns. "I write songs as if they were hand stitched quilts. They're meant to keep you warm when you think no one else cares."
Alanna Fugate, originally from Ewing Va, now resides permanently in Louisville Ky. Creating community within the songwriter circle, she's hosted an open stage here for the past 6 years every Monday night. Traveled the country for business and pleasure. Dropped 5 albums. And has had the privilege of sharing the stage with many top notch songwriters and musicians such as Victor Wooten, Jason Isbell, David Wax Museum and many more.
Fugate's style is one on its own but draws from the likes of Todd Snider, Townes Van Zandt, Conor Oberst, Ryan Adams, and most of all, her closest musician friends who've shared too many front porches and kitchen tables to name, picking til dawn.
Her current release is Ewing which can be listened to and purchased at alannafugate.bandcamp.com [+]
