Alexandra Shechtel is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. Ms. Shechtel focuses her practice on appellate litigation, as well as strategic analysis and briefing in high-stakes district court litigation.
Ms. Shechtel’s experience includes drafting appellate briefs, dispositive motions and other pleadings in the Supreme Court, United States Courts of Appeals, the United States District Courts and before administrative agencies. She has worked on matters involving the Due Process Clause, the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Tobacco Control Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act and federal common law.
Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Shechtel served as a law clerk for Judge Thomas B. Griffith of the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. She earned her JD from Stanford University, where she was a senior editor of the Stanford Law Review.
