Alexandre G. Verheyden

Alexandre Verheyden's practice focuses on competition/antitrust law, representing major corporations or governments before the European Commission, European courts, and national authorities and national courts. He also has significant experience in transatlantic mergers and cartels.

Alexandre's experience spans all fields of competition law including abuse of dominant position/monopoly offense, cartel, merger, and state aid cases. He recently represented Denka in its acquisition of Dupont's synthetic rubber business, which was cleared in Phase I despite a concentrated market (which involved filings in a dozen jurisdictions) and COMREG in relation to the merger filings that resulted in the consolidation of the mobile communications sectors in Ireland and Germany. He represented DoubleClick in its merger with Google and BT in its various mergers since 1995 (including MCI, AT&T, Infonet, and Radianz). Alexandre has successfully litigated a damage claim for anticompetitive conduct that resulted in a landmark total settlement of €120 million. He has represented multiple clients in the auto parts cartel and advised Dole in the banana cartel case before the European Commission.
