Alix Lapri was born November 6, 1996 in Topeka, Kansas. At the age of three, it was noticeable that she had taken special interest in music. By age six, Alix performed for the first time publicly singing Mariah Carey's "Hero." This performance gave Alix her first taste of the stage. In that moment, with all eyes on her, Alix realized performing was her true love.
Joining at age seven, Alix was a committed member of the Topeka Boys and Girls Club for 4 years. During that time, she participated in every talent showcase that the club provided, collecting her trophies along the way. In 2003, Alix entered Kansas City's talent showcase, "Summer in the City." As the only child performing in the showcase, Alix placed third overall. Age nine brought about more achievements, as Alix won first place at Kansas' Annual "Juneteenth" Talent Showcase. Subsequently, more notice was given her as she was invited to sing at the Florida Junior Hockey State Championship. These accomplishments boosted Alix’s self-confidence, making her aware of a special gift she had been blessed with.
Through her journey, Alix has become known as the “little lady with the big voice.” She has been invited to perform the National Anthem at several local sporting events, performed at the American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" fund raiser, and has also snatched up every opportunity to sing at weddings, churches, and other events. Alix has been given several opportunities for vocal features on a number of songs with local artists, and a most notable acknowledgment was a write-up by the local newspaper which mentioned Alix Lapri specifically for her performances on YouTube – which also gained mention by Nickelodeon.
Determined for the world to know her, Alix’s family considered a move to Atlanta, GA to further Alix’s career. Months later with only God leading the way, Alix’s mom transferred with her job and the entire family moved to Atlanta in search of larger opportunities for Alix.
Within her first 2 years in Atlanta, Alix Lapri was starting to find her way and emerge on the entertainment scene. In October of 2008, Alix got her first real studio experience, recording her first single “VIP” produced by Derwin “Gold Man” Jackson. The following year, she earned a first place win in the Miss Atlanta girl modeling and acting competition, and was also featured in the Miss Atlanta Girl Magazine, where she was recognized for her passion for her music and commended for her commitment and success with her YouTube channel, which at the time had over 1.5 million views.
Gifted academically, Alix has received the Presidential Academic Award for having a Grade Point Average above 3.5. Her aspirations are to "…be seen by the world, and make them smile with my voice." Her hobbies include reading, dancing, karaoke, shopping and hanging out with her friends.
In her career as of 2013, Alix Lapri has been active in the recording of commercials to work her way to the big screens. She has appeared with a recurring role on BET Network’s television series “Reed Between the Lines,” starred in Jacob Latimore’s music video, “Camera Phone,” and recently wrapped filming in 2012 for “Standing Up.” Alix has recently released her EP “I Am Alix Lapri.” She is currently pursuing her career as an actor and recording artist, represented by the Atlanta-based powerhouse behind Jacob Latimore and Justin Martin, Crown World Entertainment.
