High Energy Hook Driven Rock And Roll.
"Carolina's Finest Alternative Rock" (John Tavalera, Owner of the world famous Troubadour Club in London, UK)
Taking inspiration from the great bands of the past (drawing comparisons to The Beatles, R.E.M. and Nirvana) Angwish is leaving its musical footprint all over the world with a maelstrom of non-stop international touring.
Frontman Bryan Bielanski (guitars/vocals) formed the alternative rock duo in Charlotte, NC while still in high school during the late 1990's shortly after his beloved older sister took her own life. One of the last things she said to her brother was "You need to travel the world and play your music to people everywhere". Since then Angwish has released 9 full length albums, 3 EPs and played over 1000 shows in 15 different countries on 3 continents, including major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Athens, Bangkok and Hong Kong. Angwish has also been sponsored by the national US music store chain Sam Ash, had songs placed in European Red Bull advertisements and in 2011 Bryan Bielanski was nominated for "Best Songwriter" and won the "Most Promising Artist" award in the Charlotte Music Awards.
The guitar/drums duo (complemented by Mitch Cooper on drums) creates its thick sound by using a specially modified guitar, numerous effects pedals and multiple amplifiers, a set up that Bryan constructed himself. Many listeners claim Angwish sound like a 4 or even 5 piece band after hearing their live performance. The songs range in style from jangly 60's British Invasion rock to the punk of the 70's, alternative rock of the 90's and the pop music of today. Bryan pours his heart out with his lyrics in each and every song drawing from all his life experiences from the ecstatic to the horrific. Nobody can question the sincerity and ferocity of the gauntlet of emotions that spews forth when Bryan sings his songs.
Angwish's new album, "Lust For Live" is now available, they are touring Europe for the remainder of 2015 and Central America in the spring of 2016.
