Another Neighbor Disappeared

An American four piece instrumental post rock band from Portland OR
Formed in early 2014 by guitarist Darryl O Beirne (Formerly of East coast band Grievence) and bassist Peter Schauer from Cincinnati band Unattached, they quickly recruited drummer Mark Willey, formerly of NY band The Inklings. And most recently guitarist Julian Smith of Albuquerque band Reality.
The band is known for its dense combinations of different melodies and extended track lengths. Its distinctive sound draws from post rock, atmospheric rock, and other heavier influences.
When performing live, the band is noted for being able to replicate and even expand upon their recorded material through use of sampling, and extensive array of effect pedals and loop pedals to build layers of sound and is known for their atmospheric and entirely instrumental style
Musical style and influences
The band's sound has developed towards a more indie/experimental sound, with increased use of effects and cleaner guitars. Comparisons with post-rock giants Mogwai and God Is an Astronaut are common, however the band cite heavier acts such as Russian Circles, And So I Watch You From Afar and Pelican as recent influences. Though they employ the standard soft/loud dynamic common of most post-rock bands, the band treat the term lightly, preferring the use of tightly structured songs and melodies rather than the 'beautiful noise' opted for by most post rock bands.
