Artur Badra focuses his practice on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and other corporate transactions such as the structuring of business entities in Latin America and around the globe, as well as representing transnational companies in cross-border transactions.
Artur works with Jones Day offices worldwide in matters involving Latin American legal issues and regularly advises clients of the Firm including Acciona, Autodesk, Chevron, Investcorp International, LinkedIn, Riverside Company, the Schibsted Media Group, TAM Airlines, and TRX Realty, among others. His transactional practice spans a range of industries, including automotive, energy and renewable energy, internet media, infrastructure, real estate, and telecoms.
Artur also has been involved in conducting internal corporate investigations of fraud and violations of anticorruption laws, such as the FCPA and UK Bribery Act, in Latin America. He has experience working with U.S. public companies to develop worldwide corporate compliance documents and has given presentations to company employees and senior management regarding compliance issues.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2007, Artur practiced law for five years at a prominent Brazilian law firm, where he was a member of its corporate team and worked on many large M&A and reorganization transactions. After five years in Spain, Artur moved back to Brazil in 2011, participating actively in the start-up of the SÃ£o Paulo Office where he is currently based.
