Bastiaan Kout is an experienced advisor to public and private companies, including private equity and venture capital firms, primarily with respect to cross-border transactions, including M&A, joint ventures, and capital markets matters.

Recent representative transactions include advising BioMarin Pharmaceutical on its acquisition of Prosensa ($680 million), Tokyo Electron on its merger of equals with Applied Materials ($29 billion), Taiwan Semiconductor in its investment in Dutch-listed ASML Holding under ASML's customer co-investment program (€838 million), NEP Group in its acquisition of Faber Audiovisuals, and Hansteen Holdings regarding the acquisition of a €176 million (US$239.8 million) credit facility. In addition, Bastiaan has been advising expropriated SNS Reaal bondholders seeking compensation from the Dutch State in connection with the nationalization of SNS Reaal NV and SNS Bank NV. [1]
