Ben Gibson focuses his practice on energy, land use and environmental law. Mr. Gibson counsels clients on federal and state environmental laws, with an emphasis on energy projects, including transmission, gas-fired generation and renewable energy, and represents developers and utilities in administrative proceedings and litigation. He also works on matters involving site remediation and water quality.
Mr. Gibson has an active pro bono practice in immigration and family law. He represents clients in court for matters such as asylum and guardianship, and has advised nonprofit organizations on compliance and internal governance issues.
While in law school, Mr. Gibson interned at the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association and served as a student attorney with the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Clinic, where he focused on public trust issues and the Clean Water Act.
Before practicing law, Mr. Gibson worked as a public affairs consultant in Los Angeles specializing in government relations and community outreach in support of renewable energy projects and residential, commercial and institutional developments.
