He has been a national panel speaker at the ABA IP and INTA annual meetings on international restructuring of intellectual property assets and has restructured the IP of several Fortune 500 consumer product companies. A former biomedical engineer, Brent obtained a $33 million damages verdict in a medical device infringement case.In 2015, Brent obtained the third largest DMCA judgment on record, a $65 million judgment on behalf of the U.S. subsidiaries of the three largest Korean broadcasters against the corporate operator of a global internet streaming piracy network. Recently, Brent represented Ardian, a medical device company, in its global patent strategy and $800 million acquisition by Medtronic. He defended Digigraph.me in a challenge to the validity of its digital image transmission patents, and obtained a preliminary and permanent injunction for leading Korean broadcaster, MBC, against trademark infringement of its famous TV series title.
