Brett Heading

Brett Heading has in-depth experience advising company boards and government-owned corporations, in managing capital raisings for ASX-listings, and as a director of listed and unlisted companies in the life sciences, property, agribusiness, and energy sectors.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Brett served legal advisory roles with several large private family companies in Queensland. He also advised the boards of many GOCs (government-owned corporations) in a variety of issues, including the boards of Sun Gas Retail and Sun Retail in the privatization of Energex Retail. He served for 12 years (1997-2009) as a member of the Takeovers Panel, where he sat on 28 panel matters including 20 as sitting president. He was one of the longest serving members of the Takeovers Panel in the history of the organization, and his term was renewed by the federal Treasurer on four occasions. [1]
