Ek Balam is a small Mayan indigenous village that has built a site for rural tourism and ecotourism and is located in the Yucatan Peninsula, very near the colonial city of Valladolid, to 2 hours from the city of Cancun, Mexico.
In Ek Balam are cabins made of wood and palm also are equipped with beds and bathroom with all amenities. Besides staying in the cabins the traveler can request food service (breakfast, lunch and dinner) All our menus are made for travelers to know the wonder of Indian food and Yucatan.
In Ek Balam the traveler can find the impressive archaeological city of Ek Balam, which was built over 3000 years by the ancestors of the people living today. Another wonder that exists in Ek Balam is special Xcanch cenote where visitors can swim well biking through the jungle, crossing the lake with a zip line and down into the water using a rappel.
In the indigenous community the traveler can also know the daily life of the Maya people, its history, customs, crafts and even can learn to prepare Indian dishes like chicken pibil.
