Buster Keaton Music

Buster Keaton is a new-wave, musical powerhouse drawing influence from Funk, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Soul, yet defies the confines of any one genre. Their stimulating compositions paired with the spirit of improvisation and jazz harmony distinguishes them as a noteworthy group of musicians bringing forth a refreshing sense of originality. The music is fun and inviting, enticing listeners with the urge to dance and be one with the groove!

Based out of central Florida, Buster Keaton has just released their first EP featuring their inventive blend of songwriting with improvised solos and feel-driven grooves. The digital release is available on Bandcamp at busterkeatonmusic.bandcamp.com. Though the band is very young, an impression has already been made on the live music scene, and has taken part in events such as Jambando, West End Hurricane Party, Young Gunz Jazz Showcase, Soul-Fried Sunday, and Hometeam Summer Jam. Buster Keaton currently hosts a residency at Tanqueray’s Bar in downtown Orlando and plays every Thursday for free. Also look out for radio play on WPRK and WUCF in the Central Florida area.

The band features Nick Bogdon on guitar/vocals, Derek Engstrom on drums/vocals, Chris McMullen on bass/vocals, Keegan Matthews on keys, and guest appearances by Christian Ryan on alto sax, and Matthew Mills on trumpet. With each member contributing material to the whole, the sound is constantly evolving and dynamic by nature. Also an active part of the up-and-coming Orlando music scene, Buster Keaton is no stranger to collaborations with local bands such as, Fat Night, Ancient Sun, and FunkUs, while reflecting influence from long-time Orlando favorites including The Legendary JC’s, Shak Nasti, The Rules, and The Gerry Williams Band. Look out for future listings and events because the best show is always the next show! [+]
