Carolyn A. Woodson

Carolyn Woodson represents national and international companies in complex commercial litigation and insurance recovery matters in federal and state courts, arbitrations, and mediations. Her practice highlights prior to joining Jones Day in 2011 included acting as lead associate assisting with all aspects of discovery, trial preparation, and the successful opposition to writ petitions in a trade secrets misappropriation case alleging hundreds of millions of dollars in damages, advising a major toy manufacturer in a confidential matter concerning availability of insurance coverage for litigation costs incurred in underlying product liability litigation, and defending a manufacturer against a distributor's fraud and breach of contract claims arising from the termination of a distribution relationship. She is currently on a team representing Union Pacific in an antitrust proceeding alleging price-fixing of freight fuel surcharges.

In addition, Carolyn has a broad range of pro bono experience. For example, she handled all aspects of a real estate fraud matter brought against a major subprime lender, including preparation of briefs and arguments on dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, and successfully lifting a bankruptcy stay and obtaining an order remanding the action to Los Angeles Superior Court.
