Chasmin D. Brooks

Chasmin Brooks is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Brooks focuses on investment fund matters and related transactions. He is experienced in handling side letter negotiations, determining fund structures, fundraising and client marketing disclosure obligations.

Mr. Brooks advises private equity fund sponsors on matters involving fund formation, fundraising, organizational structuring, and acquisition and divestiture of portfolio companies.

As part of his pro bono practice, Mr. Brooks supports D.C. public charter schools as a Charter Board Partners fellow and regularly advises small businesses at the D.C. Bar Small Business Clinic.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Brooks serves on the firm’s Multicultural Promotion and Attainment Coalition (MPAC) as a member of the steering committee. MPAC supports the firm’s diversity initiatives through internal and external outreach and programming.

Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Mr. Brooks earned his JD from the Georgetown University Law Center. While pursuing his legal education, Mr. Brooks participated in both the National and Mid-Atlantic BLSA — Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition where he shared the titles of National Champion and Regional Champion and Best Respondent Brief, respectively.
