Chateau Hosanna Pomerol 2011

In the spring of 1999, Ets. Jean-Pierre MOUEIX purchased the Chteau CERTAN GIRAUD from the eponymous family. The property was divided in two parts, one of which was sold. The remaining acreage, located on the famous plateau of Pomerol, was renamed HOSANNA, a name which evokes praise and acclamation. It faces Chteau PETRUS and lies between Chteau LAFLEUR and VIEUX Chteau CERTAN. The beautiful red gravel soil has layers of clay; the vines are between 25 and 50 years of age, with an average of 40 years and quite a high percentage of Cabernet Franc. Since the acquisition, extensive work has been carried out in the vineyard, including the installation of new drainage and wells. Chteau HOSANNA marries elegance and depth and could become, thanks to the delicate touch of the Cabernet Franc, a feminine counterpart to Chteau PETRUS. [+]
