Cholame Vineyard’s 2011 Bull Pen Tempranillo (a winegrape varietal native to Spain) was named to honor the famous Spanish bulls and also owner David DuBois’ great love of baseball. Added to this, the Cholame Valley has a long tradition of cattle ranching, from the first Spanish settlers to the annual Parkfield Rodeo, making this Spanish-style wine a great celebration of the region’s local history and culture. The wine’s smoky aromas with hints of spice and black cherries complement the well-balanced, complex palate of dark cherry, pepper, currant, and smoky flavors. [+]
