Christopher Lovrien

Christopher Lovrien is a trial lawyer who represents companies in high-stakes commercial disputes, deal litigation, business torts, contested bankruptcy matters, antitrust claims, securities litigation, and the defense of consumer class actions. He has litigated cases before courts throughout the U.S. and has substantial experience in arbitration and mediation. Chris also serves as Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's California Region, which encompasses five offices and nearly 300 lawyers.

Chris’s recent significant representations include prevailing as trial counsel for American Apparel in its contested chapter 11 confirmation hearing, leading the Firm’s representation of Macy’s in a commercial arbitration that culminated in a five-day hearing and a unanimous victory for the client, obtaining dismissal of a False Claims Act case against a medical device manufacturer at the pleadings stage, representing Chevron U.S.A. in claims related to a refinery fire, and achieving dismissal of federal securities claims arising out of the sale of a well-known restaurant chain. Chris also has successfully represented companies and their officers and directors in internal and SEC investigations. [1]
