Christopher Reyne

Christopher Reyne is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a deep and undeniable love for his craft plainly visible on his face at every single performance. His sound, characterized by thought-provoking lyrics, haunting melodies, and sprawling soundscapes, is at times reminiscent of such musical artists as Death Cab for Cutie, Radiohead, and Elliott Smith. Following a relocation to Portland, Oregon from Boston in the fall of 2011, he began laying down the tracks that would make up "A Stranger at the Wheel", his most ambitious release to date.

Recorded and mixed over the course of a year and a half in his small studio apartment, as well as late nights inside of a hat shop, the album’s key themes include self-improvement, human emotion, and taking control of one’s life, subjects Christopher admits he’s learned a great deal about himself in recent years. Lifelong friend and co-collaborator Nate Manware of the band Humon provided drums on the album, and was the only other musician featured on the work, mastered by Doug Van Sloun (Bright Eyes, Cursive, The Faint, She & Him).
