Citizen Joe

Citizen Joe was founded by Kurtiss Lystne in 1992. His music and song writing was crafted with the inspiration of acoustic guitar, piano, and the mandolin.
The acoustic guitar is the back bone of each original Citizen Joe song. In most songs it can be heard as 'hard driving', which fuels the strong drum rythm and distinct bass guitar thump and bottom melody. The jangling of the mandolin, as well as the clever hook melodies are also heard through out many of the CJ songs. The lyrics are insightful and poetically crafted from Kurtiss' true life experiences, or, from people whom he's met that inspired him to pen a song. the music of Citizen Joe has roots in americana rock, however: The Cj sound transcends many genre's and bridges the cap of Rock, Country, Pop, and Americana, (and sometimes southern rock).

Over the past 23 years the CJ band has shared the stage with Country legends Hal Ketchum, and Black Hawk, Canadian Rockers Lover Boy, southern rockers Marshall Tucker and the Outlaws, British pop rocker Eric Burden and the Animals, Pop rock legend John Waite (of the Baby's), and the tubes, just to name a few.
