Céline G.B. Barnwell

Céline Barnwell is a general commercial litigator with experience in complex domestic and international disputes. Her practice encompasses a broad range of litigation and alternative dispute resolution including arbitrations and expert determinations relating to a variety of matters including contractual and statutory interpretation, delay and extension of time claims, fraud claims, joint venture disputes, regulatory issues, and shareholder disputes. She has acted for clients in DIAC, ICC, and LCIA arbitrations and in litigation before the English High Court, Hong Kong High Court, and the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC) Court.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2014, Céline advised an international energy company in two high-value ICC arbitration disputes over the construction and operation of a natural gas plant in the Middle East, a shareholder of two high-profile UAE companies in a fraud-related claim and shareholder dispute in DIAC arbitration proceedings, and an international trading company in two ICC arbitration disputes over the construction of an infrastructure project of national significance in a GCC country.
