Daniel J. Travers

Daniel Travers is a general commercial litigator with experience in complex domestic and multijurisdictional matters across a number of industry sectors. In particular, he has acted on a number of disputes on behalf of energy sector clients. More generally, he has acted for high-profile corporates, banks, investment vehicles, and individuals in relation to a range of contentious issues including, in particular, contractual disputes, fraud and deceit claims, and insolvency, resolved by both litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Daniel's recent experience includes successfully defending the U.S. oil and gas company, Texas Keystone, against Excalibur Ventures' high-profile $1.6+ billion claim for an interest in petroleum fields in Iraqi Kurdistan. After one of the longest and most complex Commercial Court trials of recent years, Jones Day was successful in achieving the dismissal of every single claim against its client.
