Daven G. Lowhurst

Daven Lowhurst has more than 25 years of experience representing blue chip companies with interests throughout the world in litigation, trial, and appellate matters. His practice focuses on insurance coverage and recoveries, contract and indemnity disputes, construction disputes, business and tort litigation, and appeals.

Daven has represented clients in many industries including construction, energy, technology, manufacturing, and commercial real estate. He represents an affiliate of the world's largest gold producer in pursuing insurance recoveries for mining operations and negotiated a project insurance agreement providing $1.6 billion in coverage for the operation of a 2-gigawatt power plant. He recently pursued hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance in connection with a multibillion dollar hotel/casino/condo development. Before joining Jones Day, he handled contract disputes and pursued insurance recoveries for some of the largest construction, energy, and manufacturing companies including recovering $50 million for a manufacturer, $30 million for a national developer, and a $16 million jury verdict for a commercial property owner. Daven has won numerous appeals, including published decisions in the California Supreme Court, state appellate courts, and the Ninth Circuit. [1]
