David A. Grubman

Dave Grubman focuses his practice on corporate transactions involving public and private M&A, joint ventures, recapitalizations, and proxy contests. He regularly represents Fortune 500 companies in acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures as well as advising management and boards of directors in connection with activist shareholders and proxy contests. Dave leads the M&A Practice in the Pittsburgh Office.

Dave represents companies in a broad range of industries, including home products, health care, energy, metals, and telecommunications. Recently he represented RTI International Metals in its $1.5 billion sale to Alcoa, XIO Group in its $510 million tender offer for Lumenis, Calgon Carbon Corporation in its $160 million acquisition of Arkema’s activated carbon and filtration media business, NEP Group in more than 10 acquisitions with an aggregate deal value of approximately $1 billion, LIXIL Corporation in connection with its $542 million acquisition of American Standard Brands from Sun Capital Partners, and Calgon Carbon Corporation in connection with various matters related to activist investor Starboard Value.
