David B. Amerikaner

David Amerikaner is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins. His practice is focused on land use, environmental, and project development matters, as well as the environmental aspects of corporate and financial transactions.

Mr. Amerikaner advises clients through all stages of the entitlement and development process for major infrastructure, energy and development projects. He assists clients with environmental regulatory issues involving the California Environmental Quality Act and other state environmental laws, local and municipal planning and zoning regulations, and several federal environmental statutes and regulations and their state and local counterparts. Mr. Amerikaner also advises clients on environmental and land development risks associated with major corporate and financial transactions.

Mr. Amerikaner has advised clients in numerous sectors, including entertainment, real estate development, oil and gas, shopping centers and education. In addition, he has represented financial institutions, funds and lenders in connection with major transactions.

Mr. Amerikaner is also active in the firm’s pro bono program. He has represented St. Joseph Center, a non-profit social service agency in the Venice area of Los Angeles, with regard to land use and local government issues. He has also advised the Wattstar Cinema and Education Center, a proposed non-profit movie theatre and job training project in the Watts area of Los Angeles, with regard to complex issues surrounding the end of California’s redevelopment law.

Mr. Amerikaner is admitted to practice in both New York and California.
