David B. Cochran

Dave Cochran leads the PTAB Litigation practice at Jones Day. For more than 20 years he has provided clients with a full range of patent legal services, including international patent prosecution, patent opinions, prelitigation counseling, ex parte and inter partes patent reexamination, due diligence of intellectual property assets, patent litigation at the district courts and the International Trade Commission, and most recently as counsel in more than 50 post-grant trials at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent Office. He has filed and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in the United States and throughout Europe, South America, and Asia. Dave participates in all aspects of patent litigation from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal to the Federal Circuit.

Dave has represented many well-known electronics and software clients, such as ABB, Avid Technology, Blackberry, Eastman Kodak, Kyocera, Gennum, Harris, IBM, Intersil, Marvell Semiconductor, Oclaro, Ramtron, Sandisk, SAP, SAS Institute, Semtech, Sigma Designs, Synopsys, Visa International, Xilinx, and many others.
