David J. Grecco

David Grecco has substantial experience as in-house and outside counsel to exploration and production (E&P) companies, particularly those participating in the Marcellus and Utica Shales. Through a wide range of professional experiences, he has developed sound business judgment and a practical approach to working with clients to achieve business objectives and solve legal challenges.

David's skills span strategic and day-to-day matters for the oil and gas industry. While serving as general counsel of Linn Energy, a publicly traded company, his representation included M&A projects, assisting the company and its board of directors with reporting and corporate governance obligations under the federal securities laws and NASDAQ listing rules, and advising on commercial agreements and employment matters. As vice president-legal of Phillips Resources, a privately held company, David was part of the senior management team that transformed a longtime shallow natural gas producer into a dynamic participant in the Marcellus Shale play. He worked closely with the operations, land, and accounting departments on acquisitions and divestitures of oil and gas leases, strategic joint ventures, financings through private placements, negotiation of oil and gas leases, and resolution of landowner disputes and litigation matters. David's representation of Phillips concluded in the sale of the company and an affiliate to Exxon Mobil Corporation in a $1.7 billion transaction. [1]
