David O. Kahn
David Kahn is a member of the firm's Finance Committee, former chair of the Los Angeles Office Tax Department and Chair of the firm's Tax-Exempt Organization Practice. While Mr. Kahn's tax practice is broad based, his areas of concentration include the federal taxation of corporations, partnerships (including master limited partnerships) and real estate investment trusts, including the federal tax consequences associated with taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, and corporate and partnership reorganizations.
Mr. Kahn has significant experience with tax issues of interest to emerging companies and their investors. He also has substantial experience with tax-exempt organizations and transactions and issues of interest to such entities. Mr. Kahn has served as the Chair of the Corporate Tax Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and has authored numerous articles dealing with various aspects of federal taxation.
Mr. Kahn is a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President Obama in connection with his service on the IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel from 2009 through 2011 and was recognized as a leading tax advisor in The Legal 500 US 2012.
