Derby 2007 Bordeaux Red Blend Implico

One of Derby Wine Estates’ most beloved wines is the ‘Implico’ Bordeaux-style Red Blend. Each vintage, this wine’s specific composition changes, but the idea behind the wine remains the same – blending fruit from both east and west Paso Robles to create the ultimate red blend. The name, Implico, is Latin for intimately connected to show how beautifully the fruit from these different vineyard sites blend together. The 2007 Implico is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were grown on Laura’s Vineyard in east Paso Robles, while the Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are from Russell Family Farms in west Paso Robles. When blended together, the 2007 Implico becomes a well-balanced, complexly flavored wine. The Implico weaves vivid, lively flavors of blackcurrant, cassis, black licorice and mocha together with just a touch of minerality. The rich tannins and lush backbone compliment the flavors and lead into a lingering finish. [+]
