Imitating a four-piece band with a single acoustic guitar, Diana's percussive attack incorporates funky bass lines while pounding out explosive rhythms and attention grabbing leads. She accompanies her powerful instrument with a genuine storytelling passion which leaves her audience enticed to follow every word. Carl De Scott from the Examiner described Diana as, "very aggressive in your face style kinda' folk with a funky punk edge singer-songwriter."
"She plays like Ani (Difranco) and sings like Alanis (Morissette)" - Mandee (EC Magazine)
Growing up as the daughter of a minister from 'small town PA', Diana soon discovered the power of lyrics when her music began to question the religious structure of her adolescent years. Not afraid to address taboo topics, Diana's lyrical content examines sexual encounters, the politics of religion and the paternal influences over a young woman. Pulling from the songwriting influences of feminist artists such as Joni Mitchell and Ani Difranco, Diana developed a unique approach to the acoustic guitar by incorporating alternate tunings and intricate finger-picking patterns.
Based out of Cleveland, OH Diana's musical career began to gain momentum when she landed opening positions with artists such as Melissa Ferrick, Catie Curtis, Jennifer Batten (lead guitarist for Michael Jackson & Jeff Beck), blues guitarist Kelly Richey, Donnie Iris, Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown, and nationally known comedians Vickie Shaw and Suzanne Westenhoefer. Her talent and enthusiasm has allowed her to share the bill with performers as diverse as Brooklyn based performer BITCH, Chicago songwriter Katie Todd and multi-instrumentalist Joe Vitale Jr. In less than three years she went on to headline her own shows at venues such as the House of Blues and The Winchester Music Hall while gaining regional attention playing festivals and music clubs throughout the Great Lakes region. With the release of her second album in 2012, In This Skin, Diana has a set tour planned to hit major cities along the East Coast, including stops in Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
