Board certified in family practice since 1983, Dr. Rodriguez has extensive experience treating people of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings. As a family practitioner at the Bellflower/Rosecrans office of Pioneer Medical Group, Dr. Rodriguez specializes in treating the entire family, including children as young as two months old. Within his practice, Dr. Rodriguez emphasizes preventative medicine and the benefits of a healthy diet and exercise.
Born in Colombia, Dr. Rodriguez and his family came to the United States when he was 14. He credits his father in part for his career in medicine. His father wanted to be a physician, but circumstances prevented him from pursuing that dream. So instead, he encouraged his children to pursue a career in medicine. Today, Dr. Rodriguez and his three siblings are all in the medical field.
Dr. Rodriguez received his bachelor of science from University of Southern California (USC) and earned his medical degree from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He then returned to USC for residency training through a program at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he served as chief resident. He has also served as a helicopter rescue and transport physician and was affiliated as an associate professor for the School of Medicine at University of California, Irvine.
When not treating patients, Dr. Rodriguez spends time with his wife and two children at their home in Garden Grove. He also enjoys golf, tennis, working out, and staying in shape. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
