Dr. Goddard earned his medical degree from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London in England. He completed residency in Internal Medicine at the Royal London Hospital and fellowship in Rheumatology at Westminster and Charing Cross Hospitals in London. He also completed a research fellowship in the immunology of the rheumatic diseases at the Medical Research Council Bone and Joint Research Institute at the London Hospital Medical College which earned him the degree of Doctorate of Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine of London University.
Dr. Goddard is board certified in rheumatology. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Rheumatology and fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. He has a life-long interest in both basic and clinical research and has served on the Veterans' Affairs Program Review Division of the Medical Research Service. He is a member of the Government Affairs Committee of the American College of Rheumatology. He also serves as a member of the American College of Rheumatology Political Action Committee. He is a life-long educator. He is currently developing an integrated medical care model for Weill Cornell Medical College in the Borough of Brooklyn.
