Dr. Denis Gebhardt

Dr. Denis Gebhardt has broad experience in the areas of commercial and product liability litigation and arbitration, with a special focus on international cases involving issues of international services of process, preserving evidence, and enforcement. He has acted as party-nominated arbitrator and chairman of arbitral tribunals, including the arbitration rules of the ICC, DIS, and the Swiss Chambers. Denis also regularly advises on foreign proceedings involving German law and advises clients in the areas of domestic and international commercial contracts, distribution law, and product liability.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2015, Denis advised the receiver of Spiegel concerning pretrial discovery and enforcement issues in connection with a billion dollar claim against the Hamburg-based Otto family. He also represented the German automotive supplier Mitec AG in court proceedings against Ford Motor Company relating to the breach of a long-term delivery contract. [1]
