The Wehlener Sonnenuhr Vineyard is planted on compact and stony Devonian gray slate on a steep 60% slope at an elevation of 426-1082 feet. The Graacher Himmelreich Vineyard, at an altitude is 450-600 feet, is planted on blue/gray slate and the Graacher Domprobst Vineyard, is planted on a steep slope at an elevation of 500-650 feet to loam with medium-size chunks of blue/gray Devonian slate top soils. The wines are aged in traditional large oak casks. [+]
