Originally from Houston, Dr. Colombowala attended Dartmouth College. After graduation from Baylor College of Medicine in 2002, he completed his internship, residency, and Cardiology fellowship at Baylor. While in medical school he earned certification in medical ethics. He completed additional training in Electrophysiology at the world-renowned Texas Heart Institute, where following completion of his fellowship, he remained on staff in clinical practice, also engaging in research and teaching.
In 2011, Dr. Colombowala accepted a position to start the first arrhythmia program in Northwest Montana. The program grew into one of the highest volume centers in the Northwest US, and it became a care destination for regional and international patients. Dr. Colombowala has been involved in multiple large clinical trials. He is a consultant to medical device companies, and he lectures nationally on topics ranging from stroke and sudden death prevention to long-term heart rhythm monitoring. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Gujarati.
Away from the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife Elizabeth and their two boys. The family returned to Houston to live closer to family and friends. They enjoy travel, hiking, fly fishing, and skiing. Be sure to follow Dr. Colombowala on Twitter at @RhythmMD.
