Jonathan S. Chang, MD is Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University Medical Center and Attending Ophthalmologist at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital. His clinical and research interests include vitreoretinal surgery, management of complex retinal disorders, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. His surgical specialties include macular hole surgery, epiretinal membrane surgery, vitrectomy surgery and scleral buckling.
He received his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency and vitreoretinal fellowship training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, where he also served as Chief Resident and Co-Director of Ocular Trauma.
Dr. Chang is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has published a number of articles in the ophthalmic literature and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmoolgy (AAO) and American Society of Retinal Specialists (ASRS). He is a reviewer for journals including Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science (IOVS) and Retina.
