Julie Glickstein, MD, is a Professor of Pediatrics. Her research interests involve fetal and pediatric echocardiography. She is specifically interested in prenatal education for parents of fetuses with congenital heart disease and the impact of prenatal diagnosis on parental understanding of congenital heart disease. She has been involved with several national multi-center research studies including prenatal assessment of fetuses born to mothers with Lupus and other collagen vascular diseases, as well the post natal assessment of cardiac function in infants exposed to retroviral medications in utero.
Dr. Glickstein is very involved with the education and teaching of medical students during their 4 years of medical school, pediatric residents and pediatric cardiology fellows. She is the Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program for the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at CHONY/ Columbia University .
Dr. Glickstein is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology. She is a member of many professional organizations including the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography ,the New York Pediatric Cardiology Society of Greater New York and the Fetal Heart Society. She sits on several national committees, including the Society of Pediatric Cardiology Training Program Directors (American Academy of Pediatrics)
