Philip is devoted to providing excellent evidence-based treatment, with an emphasis on open communication and education. Experienced in urgent and primary care, with an emphasis on HIV management, Philip seeks to help his patients discover a fulfilling, healthy life. He is deeply committed to caring for groups who may have been marginalized by the health care system in the past: the LGBT community, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, racial and ethnic minorities, and non-English speakers. Philip is passionate about staying both physically and intellectually fit, enjoying outdoor sports and strength training in addition to reading, travel, and learning new languages. He received his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Medicine, and completed his residency with the UCSF Primary Care Internal Medicine Program. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
