Rajen Desai MD is an board-certified ophthalmologist with AdvantageCare Physicians in New York.
Dr. Desai received his MD from the Stanford School of Medicine, where he conducted research in the genetics of and treatments for age-related macular degeneration. He completed his residency, chief residency, and glaucoma fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. During his training, he received the "Academic Achievement Award" and the "Best Teacher of Medical Students Award."
With over 14 years of experience in vision research, Dr. Desai has produced over 40 peer-review publications and presentations across the country. He has received multiple research awards and grants, including the prestigious Society of Heed Fellows Award, one of only 5 honorees selected nationally. He brings the latest advances of vision research to his patient care, both in the clinic and operating room. Multiple local physicians have trusted him to operate on their and their parents' own eyes.
Dr. Desai is certified in bladeless laser-assisted cataract surgery and glaucoma surgery, and has been interviewed by Reuters News. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the American Glaucoma Society.
