Edward Sellers 2008 Proprietary Red Blend Le Thief

Edward Sellers 2008 Le Thief was a quick sell-out at the winery, so we are fortunate to have secured an allotment of the limited-production wine for our Gold Series wine club members. The 2008 Le Thief was unable to be sent for review, but top wine critics have consistently recognized the wine in the past, with previous vintages garnering 90+ Points and prestigious Best of Class distinctions. To make Le Thief, Edward Sellers began with a stellar selection of fruit-driven Syrahs made even richer with the addition of sturdy, smoky Mourvedre and bright, succulent Grenache. The 2008 Le Thief exhibits aromas of crushed blackberries, black pepper, dark chocolate, cassis and autumn leaves. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied and soft on the approach with a round mid-palate of brambly, earthy flavors and an explosive burst of ripe currants and fruit. The rich, persistent tannins give way to long, velvety finish and create a super seductive-styled wine. You can’t get enough! Try pairing the 2008 Le Thief with lamb-stuffed peppers. [+]
