Elba L. Bermúdez

Elba Bermúdez practices corporate law with a focus on cross-border finance, project finance, sovereign and corporate securities issuances, and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2014, Elba was an associate at a leading international law firm, where she represented international financial and corporate groups as well as public and private companies. During this time she represented, among others, a global financial institution in connection with a US$50 million expansion financing involving a restaurant chain in the U.S.; a U.S. lender in connection with a $64 million acquisition financing involving a hotel property in Mexico; a U.S. lender in an asset-backed loan to a global packaging corporate group; and a U.S. publicly traded corporation in the acquisition of a Latin America-based company.
