Brooklyn dark folk chanteuse Elisa Flynn is a guitarist and songwriter who has played in indie rock, punk, and Americana bands for the better part of the last two decades. After taking voice lessons from Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond), she took her stronger voice and headed out with an acoustic guitar and a suitcase full of effects pedals to play solo. Her broodingly nuanced vocals and sardonic humor, laced with an undercurrent of unease, make a darkly gothic twist on the singer-songwriter genre.
Flynn plays regularly in and around NYC and the East Coast. In the last few years, she has opened for artists including Eilen Jewell, Bee and Flower, Damon & Naomi, Enablers, Lucinda Black Bear, Lydia Loveless, Melissa Ferrick, and Dean Wareham. Her last release was 2011's 19th Century Songs (featuring tales of shipwrecks, the Civil War, and the Donner Party). A new EP titled "My Henry Lee" was released on 9/25/15.
