Elizabeth Weaver Scofield

Liz Scofield has represented clients in complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts and regularly works on matters arising under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. She has experience in various aspects of the litigation process, including discovery, motion practice, and settlement. She has been involved in conducting internal investigations, working in conjunction with the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Currently, Liz is involved in a significant Latin America-related investigation for a Fortune 500 company that has included extensive legal and factual development as well as other issues unique to international business. She is also part of a team that has successfully won a number of individual and class action cases by tax authorities that seek to hold the online travel industry responsible for certain lodging taxes. Additionally, she has acted as lead counsel for a national credit reporting agency in numerous consumer credit reporting cases. [1]
