Ethan Harrison Smith is an American folk singer/songwriter and performing artist. As a performer, songwriter, and lyricist, he taps into a self-reflective and emotional undercurrent, which makes each of his songs and each live performance a moving and unique experience. Ethan's performances have a real raw and "live" feeling to them, and he incorporates acoustic guitar, banjo, harmonica, and percussion as a backdrop to his self-reflective discoveries.

Ethan was born and raised in the North Georgia and Atlanta area, but has recently turned into a restless soul. He now has an on-and-off again relationship with Georgia, and over the past couple of years has also spent time living in both Flagstaff, AZ and Asheville, NC.

In 2013, Ethan won a songwriting competition at Steve's Live Music, and in 2014 he was a finalist in Ragamuffin Music Hall's "Songwriter Showdown Competition".

In addition to music, he has also been involved in theatre productions in various capacities over the past few years. In 2014, his original 10-min play, "The Cowboy" was a winner of the Kennesaw State University 10-Min Play Festival, as well as Horizon Theatre's Young Playwright's Festival.

Ethan has shared the stage with many notable singer-songwriters and artists, including live performances with Caroline Aiken, Matthew Kahler, and Lauren St. Jane. Ever versatile, he has also shared the stage with a variety of rock, punk, and indie bands such as Trapdoor Social, Future Thieves, Not Half Bad, and Emby Alexander.

His smooth, unique voice has recently attracted comparisons to Willie Nelson, though many compare his overall style with artists such as Bright Eyes, Bob Dylan, Josh Ritter, and The Mountain Goats. [+]
