Established in 1988 by Barrie Smith and Judi Cullam, Frankland Estate is a family owned and operated winery located in the Frankland River district, a cool climate region situated 124 miles inland from the Southwest coast of Western Australia. Isolation Ridge Vineyard sits within the family’s 3,000 acre property on which the family has run their sheep and wool growing enterprise since 1974. Their 74 acre vineyard was planted in 1988 to regional soils (aka coffee rock) of ironstone and limonite cemented sand. The vines slowly mature over long dry summers and cold wet winters, are dry farmed and yields are kept low. Winemaker Judi Cullam is assisted by her children, viticulturalist Elizabeth Smith and operational manager, Hunter Smith. Isolation Ridge was certified organic by ACO (Australian Certified Organics) and the fruit for Rocky Gully wines and the single vineyard Rieslings is sourced from locally certified organic growers...
